The mitochondria convert energy from nutrients into ATP.

Think of ATP as a transferable energy currency for the cell.

This distinction will matter when we compare…

See it live now. We'll refine the transcript after class.

Start Live Lecture Transcription in 3 Steps

01

Choose a class and press Record Lecture

Allow microphone access and start the in-person lecture recorder from the class where you want everything saved.

02

Follow the words beside your class

In a supported browser, live text appears in a panel while the recording continues. Pause and resume both from the same recorder.

03

Stop once and keep both versions

Reopen the saved live preview when you need it. ClassLecture also prepares a refined, timestamped final transcript after class.

Stop choosing between listening and writing

Stay with the explanation.
Keep the words on screen.

Trying to capture every sentence can pull your attention away from the lecture itself. Live Transcript gives you a running preview while the original recording stays safely in progress.

Follow the idea in the moment

Glance at the live text when you miss a phrase, then put your attention back on the professor.

Reopen what the browser captured

Saved live lines stay with the lecture and can be reopened from the class page after recording.

Study from a refined transcript

After class, use the final timestamped transcript for replay, search, citations, summaries, quizzes, and flashcards.

Immediate help, then a stronger record

Follow the Lecture Live. Study From the Refined Version.

You do not have to choose between fast text now and a dependable transcript later. ClassLecture keeps the two jobs separate.

While you record

Live Transcript

A quick browser-generated preview appears beside your class so you can follow the conversation without trying to type every sentence.

  • Appears during supported Record Lecture sessions
  • Pauses and resumes with the recorder
  • Saved final lines can be reopened

After you stop and save

Final Transcript

ClassLecture processes the saved audio into the refined, timestamped transcript used for replay, search, AI answers, and study tools.

  • Prepared from the saved lecture recording
  • Timestamped for exact-moment replay
  • Powers search, citations, and study tools

Your recording comes first. If live text is unsupported, blocked, or interrupted, the lecture recording continues and final transcript processing still happens after you save.

Live Lecture Transcription Questions

Live text is designed as immediate support, while the saved recording remains the source for the refined transcript after class.

What is live lecture transcription?

Live lecture transcription turns speech into on-screen text while you use Record Lecture. It is a fast preview designed to help you follow the class in the moment; ClassLecture prepares a separate, refined final transcript after the recording is saved.

Which browsers support live transcription?

Live text requires a browser that provides the Speech Recognition API. ClassLecture checks support when recording starts. If the browser does not support it, your lecture recording continues normally and still receives a final transcript after processing.

Does live transcription replace the final transcript?

No. The live transcript is a rough preview and may revise or miss words while speech is happening. The refined final transcript is prepared from the saved recording after class and includes timestamps for replay.

Can I reopen the live transcript after recording?

Yes. Finalized live lines are saved with the lecture. You can reopen them from the Live Transcript tab or the lecture’s View Transcription menu.

What happens if live text is blocked or stops?

The recording keeps going. ClassLecture shows a clear status if browser support or microphone access prevents live text, and the saved recording still enters final transcript processing after you stop.

Can I pause and resume live transcription?

Yes. Pausing or resuming the in-person lecture recorder pauses or resumes its live transcript too, so the text follows the recording session.

Does Live Transcript work with Record Online Class?

Not currently. Live Transcript is for the in-person Record Lecture microphone workflow. Record Online Class can still save supported meeting audio and prepare a final transcript after processing.

Is the live preview used for AI answers and citations?

No. The live preview helps you follow the lecture, but it is not used as source material for retrieval. Search, AI answers, and citations use the refined final transcript after it is ready.

Do I need permission to record and transcribe a lecture?

Yes. You are responsible for permission to record and for following school, instructor, participant, and local requirements.

Can I start free?

Yes. Create or choose a class, open Record Lecture, and start the microphone recording flow. Live text appears automatically when the browser supports it.
