What is ClassLecture.ai?

ClassLecture.ai is an AI study assistant for college students. You record or upload a class lecture, and it creates a timestamped transcript you can search. You can ask questions about that class and get answers cited to the lecture (and to notes or textbooks you add). You can also generate AI summaries, study guides, and flashcards from your own lecture content.

How does ClassLecture.ai work?

Record in the browser or upload audio or video. ClassLecture.ai transcribes the lecture (often about 5 to 10 minutes for a one-hour recording). Then you can ask questions, open the transcript, generate an AI summary or study guide, and create flashcards — organized by class and term.

Does ClassLecture.ai create summaries, study guides, and flashcards?

Yes. After a lecture is transcribed, you can generate an AI summary and study guide from that lecture, and create question-and-answer or fill-in-the-blank flashcards with spaced repetition. Those study tools are built from your own lecture content, not from the open web.

Does ClassLecture.ai generate quizzes?

ClassLecture.ai does not include a separate quiz generator. It does generate flashcards with spaced repetition and AI study guides from your lectures, and you can ask practice questions in chat about that class.

Is this cheating?

Is my professor's content private?

Yes. Your lecture recordings and course materials stay connected to your account and are encrypted in transit and at rest. Your recordings are not shared or used to train models on your data, so your class materials remain private.

How long until I can use it?

You can sign up and upload your first lecture in about 60 seconds. A 1-hour lecture is typically transcribed in about 5 minutes, and once it's ready you can immediately start asking questions and studying from your transcript.

Can I record a lecture in the browser?

Yes. You can record lectures directly from your laptop or phone browser, with audio saved as you go. Guests can try up to 15 minutes of in-browser recording, while signed-up students can use their available monthly audio hours. On desktop Chrome or Edge, Record Meeting can also capture tab audio for online classes and lectures.

Do you support notes and textbooks?

Yes. Add PDFs, Word documents, Markdown, EPUB files, and other class materials alongside your lectures. ClassLecture.ai can search your lecture transcripts, notes, textbooks, or a combination of them, with cited answers that can include page references.
