Lecture Recorder Questions
Recording uses your microphone only after you press the final start button.
How does browser lecture recording work?
Choose a class, press Start Recording, review the recording-rights notice, and allow microphone access. ClassLecture records the room through your selected microphone until you pause or stop.
Does it work on phones, tablets, and computers?
Microphone recording works in supported modern mobile and desktop browsers over a secure connection. Browser support, microphone hardware, and operating-system permissions still apply.
Can I pause and resume?
Yes. The persistent recorder includes pause, resume, stop, and save controls while a lecture is active.
What if the tab closes or my connection drops?
ClassLecture saves recording segments as you go and can recover unfinished local segments after many interruptions. Keep the tab open when possible, and use the recovery prompt if saving was interrupted.
Will the original recording remain available?
Yes. A successfully saved recording stays in the selected class. It is not discarded if later transcript or study-tool processing fails.
How is the transcript created?
After the audio is saved, ClassLecture processes it into a timestamped transcript. Processing can continue after the recording workflow is complete.
Can I upload a recording instead?
Yes. You can upload an existing audio or video recording to the same class and follow its processing there.
Do I need permission to record?
You are responsible for permission to record and for following school, instructor, participant, and local requirements.
Can I start free?
Yes. You can create a class workspace and begin the recording flow immediately.
